2019 FRC Robot
The finalized drive base design used two speed shifting gearboxes and four wheels per side, linked by chains. The axles were supported on both ends. This made maintenance difficult, but kept durability high.Â
A latching mechanism I designed to hold a PVC tube in place in case of a pneumatics failure after it had deployed. Two were mounted on the front of the drive base, one on each side.
The overall robot design, the transparent parts being parts I didn't directly work on. You can see the latches here mounted on top of the drive base.
